How to Watch Hindi Movies in your own Home…
Around the world, almost everyone is beginning to watch Hindi movies (ie movies in the Hindi language, made in Bollywood).
If you want to know what all the fuss is about, check out some basic
Bollywood facts.
Unless you know where to look though, Hindi movies are not always easy to get your hands on.
You usually find them at an Indian spice shop or occasionally you’ll find one or two in a Western DVD rental store.
For a good selection though, you need to know where to go and what to ask for. I know my own little outlets, who give the best prices and throw in the odd one at a discount, but I want to help everyone find and fall in love with Hindi movies as much as I have.
So I’ve been talking to the International Shah Rukh Khan fan club, run by my friend Sandi, to see where they go to watch Hindi movies and getting their feedback on service, quality etc. At the end of this page you’ll find a tip for a good online option…
But first…
Basic things to know when you sit down to Watch Hindi movies:

Hindi Movie Tip #1: Keep 3 Hours Aside
That's not including intermission. Many Hindi movies still come with an inbuilt intermission, very cool. You’ll need it for a bathroom break or to grab some more popcorn (or samosas?).
Hindi Movie Tip #2: Be Prepared for Any Emotion
There will very likely be singing, dancing and tear-shedding. Be prepared to tap your feet and hold a tissue at the same time
Hindi Movie Tip #3: It will be in Hindi
Though Mumbaikers do often sprinkle English through their sentences, wear your glasses or contacts if you need them to read the subtitles.
Hindi Movie Tip #4: The Bigger the Better
There’s nothing more amazing that Bollywood on the big screen, so if you have a home cinema, you’ll be making the most of it with the all-singing-all-dancing musical spectaculars of Bollywood.
Hindi Movie Tip #5: It helps if you know what they're talking about!
When you rent or buy a Bollywood movie, remember to check if it comes with subtitles. (This goes with tip #6 below, as some people will tell you there are subtitles when there aren’t). Often the ones sold in India may or may not include them, but ones for export most often will have English and perhaps several other languages as well.
Hindi Movie Tip #6: Buy from a Recommended Supplier.
One of the reasons I have recommended only a few websites is that either through my own testing or through the Shah Rukh Khan fanclub we have found a few reliable suppliers, who often have some bargains as well. Some others have had mixed results with some other suppliers, especially with the subtitle issue—being told there were subtitles but finding they weren’t there after all. It’s up to you where you buy from, but try to establish first whether they’re reputable.

Top 10 bollywood movies for Westerners.
There's even a free trial period available, which is pretty cool and they have Hollywood movies as well, just in case you need a break from all the colour and movement :-)
Or if you’re up for something random (not recommended at first), here is the...

for rentals or purchase.
For those in the USA, here is the one recommended to me by several members of Shah Rukh Khan's International Fanclub. It's
USA and some international destinations: Bollywood's Largest Online Store (buying not rentals, but great prices).
Unfortuntately, I can't put the collection together on that site as I can with the UK one, so you'll just have to search by title.
If you know of a good supplier for Hindi movie rentals or purchases, you can let me know by using the Contact form, then I can possibly add them to my list of recommendations.
Or get more information on the options before you watch Hindi movies.
