Hindi Movie Rentals and
Online Purchase Options

Not sure where to get your Hindi Movie Rentals? The choice is not always easy. Who do you trust? How is the quality? What about service? Here are a couple of options I’ve had checked out…

As I only have one company to recommend for Hindi Movie Rentals, I will also add the best online shop for buying Hindi them, as I’ve had good feedback from others who’ve tried it both in the USA and Australia.

LoveFilm:

LoveFilm has a very functional website and great system. I have signed up and used it myself for Hindi movie rentals and it’s quick and easy—and like getting a little gift in the mail. Basically what happens is that you make a list (or multiple lists if like) of movies you want to watch and rate them in terms of how badly you want to watch them, so they can send you them in order of preference. For me delivery each time was within 2 working days from when it went on my list.

They send just one disc at a time, which is the only downside as I’m one of those people who actually watches the bonus discs—I think a bonus disc should be included with the main movie, but never mind… [Actually, I asked them about this, and I was very happy to receive a personalised reply, explaining that the reason they need to count the bonus discs separately, is that they still need to pay separate license fees for these, which makes sense...glad I asked!]

So when you’ve watched it, you just put it in the envelope they’ve given you (no writing labels or going to the post office—too tedious) and mail it back. When they get it back, they put the next one in the mail to you. You’re informed of each action via email, so you know when one’s on its way to you. It’s very easy.

And to my surprise I found the process is even fun because it’s an interactive community. The website will suggest movies to you based on previous ones that you’ve rented and you’re encouraged to rate and review the ones you’ve seen and share that with others.

I’ve made a few collections so if you’re in the UK you can quickly find the right movies.

Tip #1:Just type in the first word of the title or even a few letters. Sometimes, there’s variation in how the Hindi is transliterated into English (eg. Kal Ho Na Ho is sometimes spelled either with Na or Naa.), so if you don’t find it first time, just try again.

Tip #2: Use my site to help you work out which actors and directors you like the sound of. Search for their filmography to find others you might like.

Membership for use of the website is free, but you must be at least 18 years of age and live in the United Kingdom (including Northern Ireland). Once you’ve registered as a member, you can then access their Hindi movie rentals and other services via:

1) Rental Service (this is what I chose, as there’s a free trial so you can ‘try before you buy’ which means you can have total confidence in the quality and service)
2) Pay As You Go Service
3) Download to Rent Service and/or
4) Download-To-Own Service

A free trial is available to new subscribers of the Rental Service (not the Pay As You Go, Download to Rent Service, Download to Own Services etc). The free trial is available only once to any one person and to only one member of a household. Billing only begins at the end of your free trial, and monthly thereafter unless otherwise indicated, for the Rental Service, unless you cancel prior to the end of your free trial.

They sell only brand new original DVDs, so you don’t need to worry that they’re pirate copies even when they’re very cheap. Most of their DVDs are Region 0 (ie. All Regions compatible), but some are Region 1 only (mostly these are the Hollywood releases), but just check if you’re not sure.
